Mitosis

This is a frame-by frame hand-drawn animation. For each frame, there are actually two drawings; one that is pencil only, and one that is oil pastel only. These were all done on 8.5x11 sheets of copy paper. At points in the video, I repeat and layer the elements to create the effect of a whole colony of these mythical cells, perhaps as part of a larger living organism.
What if cells had little lizards in them? I don’t know. It’s very difficult for me to imagine something so small and abstract.
